Dr. Roark and Dr. Bollier especially enjoy treating Dry Eye Disease and have multiple tools at their disposal to improve the ocular surface. Additionally, both doctors fit specialty contact lenses for patients with irregular corneas and for those desiring a myopic control effect.
Mark W. Roark, OD, FAAO
Dr. Roark graduated with High Honors from Indiana University with a Doctorate in Optometry and founded Allisonville Eye Care Center in Fishers, Indiana in 2003. He is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease by the International Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry and is a member of the American and Indiana Optometric Associations. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and serves as the Optometry Representative for the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee for the State of Indiana.
Dr. Roark enjoys full-scope optometry utilizing advanced technology and has extensive experience in the management of ocular conditions including Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Dry Eye Disease. He has a special interest in ocular nutrition and has lectured frequently to other Eye Care Professionals, both nationally and internationally, on the important role of macular nutrition in reducing the risk of ocular disease and enhancing visual performance, especially contrast sensitivity. Dr. Roark was honored to speak at the 2018 Brain and Ocular Nutrition Conference at Cambridge University and recently co-authored a peer-reviewed article published in a special edition of the Molecular Nutrition and Food Research journal on “Nutrition for the Eye and Brain”.
Dr. Roark has been involved in providing mobile eye care services to the poor in several third world countries including Bolivia, Honduras, Jamaica, Haiti, and Dominica. Additionally, he has provided eye care services to assisted-living residents of Indianapolis for over twenty years.
Daniel J. Bollier, OD
Dr. Bollier graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry. Following Optometry school he completed a residency program at Indianapolis Eye Care Center where he received extensive training in Primary Eye Care and Low Vision/Vision Rehabilitation training. He is a member of the American and Indiana Optometric Associations as well as the American Academy of Optometry.
As an associate at Allisonville Eye Care Center, Dr. Bollier shares Dr. Roark’s passion for teaching as he has given lectures to Optometry students and other Optometrists. He was an Assistant Instructor for four courses throughout Optometry School and enjoyed working with the students during his residency as a consulting Optometrist.
Throughout his time in school and as an Optometrist Dr. Bollier has been able to travel on 3 Optometry Mission trips to El Salvador. Here he helped perform eye exams and give glasses to those who have not had access to eye care. Dr. Bollier served as Vice President of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists during his time in school.
Dr. Bollier loves spending time with his wife and two young daughters. He is a big Indiana sports fan and enjoys spending time with friends.
